What type of session should I use?
Studio sessions are held exclusively inside the studio with backdrops and studio lighting. Minimum props are provided, but we encourage you to bring your own to add a more personal touch to your portraits.
Sessions on Location are held at a location of your choice or a location we recommend. Location sessions require usually some more time but they also tend to make the portraits more unique. The location can be your home, a park, a local downtown area, etc. On location we usually work under natural light conditions but we also can bring lighting gear and backdrops.
What can I expect at the sitting?
Please show up a few minutes before your scheduled sitting time. You will be shown into our studio for your photo session. We offer various backgrounds and props and will work with you to find the right poses.
What do I wear? What should I expect?
Once you have reserved your session, further information will be emailed to you on what to expect from your portrait experience. Of course, you are more than welcome to contact us at any time with any additional questions you may have. For better photographs, medium or dark-toned clothing is preferred. Try to avoid whites or pastels, or distracting patterns. Long sleeves are always more flattering than short sleeves. We can also provide you with the services of a professional make-up artist, hair stylist or a style consultant.
How far in advance should I schedule?
We are typically booked in advance, with Saturdays being more in demand. It is best to schedule as soon as you know that we are the right photographers for you!
How do I schedule my session?
50% of your session fee is due within 5 days of scheduling to secure your date and time. If the deposit is not paid within the 5 days, we reserve the right to make that date and/or time available to other clients.
When do I get to see my images?
You will view your images on a private online gallery approximately a day or two after your session. This is a great way to share your session with all of your family and friends!
Where can I order my photos online?
You can order photos online at our web site. Just access your photo gallery. If you have had a private photo session (portraits, weddings, etc.) then you will need your personal link and your personal password. We will provide this information to you at your portrait sitting or shortly after by email.
What products do you offer?
Besides traditional photographs printed up to 24”x60” in size, we offer frames, collages, bordered prints, photo books and greeting cards, slide shows and of course your individual web site or web page.
Maternity, Babies and Toddlers
If it comes to maternity or little ones – when is the best time to have my session?
- Maternity … in the 3rd trimester.
- Newborns … within the first two weeks of life.
- Babies … about 4 month old when they can lift their head up and smile or about 7 month old when they can sit without assistance but aren’t too mobile.
- Toddlers and children … after naps and meal times, or at a outdoor shooting anytime you like.
Baby passport photos?
We are pretty good in doing baby passport photos. We know that it takes some more time as usual to get it right – and we are willing to spend this time.
Usually every couple of weeks we set up at a downtown Squamish location to do family and business portraits as well as baby passport photos. This will be announced in our blog as well as on our Facebook page.
You don’t need an appointment, just show up within the announced time frame.
